Two paintings marking the first Prophecy show in London. A surprise gift, which meant we had to paint the night without ever asking about it.
Two paintings, made in secret.
Commissioned as a surprise following Prospa’s first Prophecy show in London, the two paintings were created to celebrate the night, one for each member of the duo.
The intention was not simply to depict the show, but to preserve the energy and atmosphere of that night.
The hands above the crowd.
The hands hover above the room, with beams of light falling from each finger into the DJ booth below, suggesting the performers and crowd are being drawn into the spectacle like puppets.
One painting holds the night in deep red; the other captures the shift into vivid orange as the lights begin to flash. Together, they present the same night in two different moods.
We could not ask them anything.
Because the paintings were intended as a surprise, there could be no direct conversation or request for source material. The entire process had to remain discreet.
We worked from an Instagram video Prospa had shared publicly, converting the footage and moving through it frame by frame until we found two moments strong enough to translate into paint. The screenshots were heavily compressed and extremely blurred, but the wider footage gave us enough to understand the scale, atmosphere and electricity of the room.
The source images gave us very little detail. The work of the studio was in bridging the distance between those fleeting, imperfect frames and two resolved paintings that could hold the energy of the night.

Everything the screen grab lost had to be put back by eye, the weight of the light, the fall of the strings, the depth behind the smoke.
Prophecy is now staged around the world. These paintings mark where it began, the first-ever party in London, capturing the night before anyone knew how far it would travel.
